About TFMC

The Film Makers Club™ (TheFMC™) is a fun new group aimed at 8-16 year olds.
It is open to young people in the Davyhulme, Urmston, Flixton and Partington areas of Trafford, Greater Manchester.
(We hope to run the group in other areas of Greater Manchester and the UK in the future).

The club will run for 10 weeks. Each week you will learn skills such as: finding and researching ideas, directing, interviewing, camera work and editing. The sessions will be run by professional mentors with media industry experience so you’ll learn real industry skills as well as tips & tricks.

It’s been created for YOU!
TheFMC is designed to be really accessible and we will be using smartphones & tablets (don’t worry if you don’t have one, we will have some that you can use) and online tools to practise your skills and try out your creative ideas. A number of your ideas will then be chosen by the group to be made into professional short films.

As members of TheFMC you will work in small groups, or as they call them in television, “Production Teams”, to come up with ideas and try them out. Each group will have an adult to help you out and make sure you’re ok.

Educational, but in a fun way!
Although the club will feel nothing like being at school, the club activities have been designed so that many of them will be relevant to subjects within the National Curriculum, such as Art & Design, Citizenship and Careers Education as well as GCSE subjects such as Media, Technology and Art.

It’s about your community.
The aim of TheFMC is to bring young people together to have fun and be creative and at the same time discover the people and places in your community through filmmaking.

The Film Makers Club is created & run by LUXSON Ltd, an Internet, Marketing & Media, Digital Communications agency based in Flixton.
